Our firm has extensive knowledge in the audits of municipalities (school districts, cities, counties and libraries), non-profit organizations, HUD, and private corporations. Audits are conducted in accordance with auditing standards generally accepted in the United States of America. An audit involves performing procedures to obtain audit evidence about the amounts and disclosures in the financial statements and procedures will be selected based on the auditor’s judgment, including assessing the risk of material misstatements to the financial statements. Auditor’s also consider internal controls in order to design audit procedures that are appropriate. Based on the audit evidence acquired, an opinion is provided on the fair presentation of the financial statements. In addition to financial statement audits, Agler and Gaeddert, Chartered has a large background in performing Employee Benefit Plan Audits as well as compliance audits; audits pursuant to Governmental Auditing Standards (Yellow Book) and OMB Circular A-133 (Single Audits).
Agler & Gaeddert, Chartered provides bookkeeping and write-up services to many individuals and small businesses. This service includes, but is not limited to, keying checks on a monthly or quarterly basis, entering deposits, reconciling bank accounts, and making any necessary adjustments to books. This service can be a stand-alone service or in conjunction with a compiled financial statement.
Agler & Gaeddert, Chartered provides compilation services on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis to clients. Compiled financial statements can be issued with or without disclosures. Compiled financial statements can be used by the management of small businesses to keep informed about the financial matters of the business throughout the year. Agler & Gaeddert, Chartered can issue compiled financial statements in conjunction with bookkeeping services.
Agler & Gaeddert, Chartered provides annual reviewed financial statements to small business and not for profit organizations. Reviewed financial statements are needed by a business or organization for several reasons, such as bonding for business and grants for not for profit organizations. Agler & Gaeddert, Chartered must be independent of the client to issue reviewed financial statements.
Agler & Gaeddert, Chartered provides both full payroll services and payroll reporting services to our clients. Our small business clients have engaged us to prepare and issue their paychecks, either by paper checks or electronic deposit. This service can include paying federal and state taxes on behalf of the client through the EFTPS system setup by the IRS. In addition to issuing the checks for each payroll, at the end of each quarter, appropriate payroll reports are prepared and issued to government agencies. At year end, W-2’s are prepared and issued. In addition to the full payroll services described above, we provide after the fact payroll services. Some clients choose to prepare and issue their own payroll checks, but engage our services to prepare quarterly reports to be filed with government agencies. In addition, we are normally engaged by these same clients to prepare W-2’s at year end. Clients engaging us to prepare after the fact payroll will provide us with their information on paper or through electronic backups of their records (normally Quickbooks or Sage 50, previously known as Peachtree). We provide support for any notices received by clients from taxing authorities regarding payroll.

Agler & Gaeddert, Chartered provides sales tax report preparation and filing for our clients that collect and pay state sales tax. Clients either provide us with information about monthly sales and sales tax collection for the preparation of the return or provide data for us to calculate the monthly sales and collections for the preparation of the return. Sales tax returns are filed online with the state of Kansas. After the return is prepared, it is printed in preliminary form before submission for client approval. After approval, Agler & Gaeddert, Chartered will submit and pay sales tax online for the client.
Agler & Gaeddert, Chartered can assist you with your off the shelf software issues. We have pro advisors that are trained in the use of Quickbooks. In addition, Agler & Gaeddert, Chartered is a member of the Business Advisory Network for Sage 50, formerly Peachtree.
Agler & Gaeddert, Chartered provides a multitude of tax services to clients. These include, but are not limited to: We have professionals that have years of training to assist individual taxpayers to file forms necessary with individual income tax returns in the areas of agriculture (Schedule F), rentals (Schedule E), oil/gas (Schedule E or C), investments income (Schedule B or D), pension income, and small business income (Schedule C). We provide tax services to businesses that have been formed as entities as well, such as partnerships (Form 1065), LLC’s (Form 1065), C corporations (Form 1120), and S corporations (Form 1120S). Agler & Gaeddert, Chartered works with executors and trustees to file the returns necessary for estates and trusts (Form 1041 and 706). When large gifts are given, Agler & Gaeddert, Chartered can assist taxpayers in determining whether a gift tax return (Form 709) is necessary and assist in preparation and filing of forms. Not for profit organizations can engage our services for annual filing of Form 990, 990-EZ or 990PF.
Agler & Gaeddert, Chartered offers tax planning to all of our individual and business tax clients. Tax planning can be done several times per year to determine estimated tax payments or just at year end. Clients will meet with a tax advisor to go through the current year’s tax situation and discuss options available under current laws.
Agler & Gaeddert, Chartered offers fraud examination services to companies who suspect a issue with internal fraud and need an outside expert to examine the records. This service will result in a report that can be for the internal use of the client or to be used in conjunction with an official investigation with law enforcement. Agler & Gaeddert, Chartered has a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) on staff for these investigations.
